FORT LAUDERDALE – Crucial moment.

The Florida Panthers (30-27-3), eight points out of the wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference, will look to make a quick comeback on the road.

Anders Lee scored the go-ahead goal with 32 seconds left in the third period, taking a much-needed point from the Panthers in a 5-4 loss to the New York Islanders on Sunday night at UBS Arena.

Now that the first game of a four-game road trip is over, the Panthers know they need different results in upcoming contests.

Sam Bennett said after the game, “We had a few unlucky breaks, but it’s unfortunate that we were one point behind after that.” “We pushed pretty hard tonight, but a game like this is too important to give up.”

The Panthers visited the New Jersey Devils on Tuesday and will conclude their road trip with back-to-back games against the Columbus Blue Jackets and Detroit Red Wings on Thursday and Friday.

To see what’s happening around the Territory this week and beyond, continue below.

Kulikov is back

Welcome back, Dmitry Kulikov.

The 35-year-old defenseman returned Sunday after missing 57 games after going down with an upper-body injury in the second game of the season against the Philadelphia Flyers on Oct. 9.

In his first game back, playing on the second pair alongside Niko Mikkola in a loss to the Islanders, Kulikov had a shot and a hit in 20 minutes, 27 seconds on the ice.

“You did a great job,” Kulikov said of his return. “You’re trying to go out there and help your team win and breathe some energy and new life into it. So yeah, it was good to go out there and be a part of it again.”
