“I grew up watching a highlight and a small team going (to the White House) after the championship, but I didn’t really think it would be me,” Tkachuk said. “After winning the Stan Lake Cup, it’s a great year to come here.”
Before meeting the president, Panthers was given a White House tour.
It was difficult for non -Americans to not be impressed with history.
From decorative equipment to symbolic oil paintings, it was a lot.
“It was really cool,” said forward Evan Rodriguez from Canada. “I think it was a little what you expected. It was definitely something I would never forget to see the history and see everything with the US president.
After the tour, Panthers was awarded by East Wing President.
During his speech, the president talked about the incredible driving to Florida’s cup, and often quoted important statistics and big moments.
In addition to the game, he also selected some specific players for their contributions.
Of course, Paul Maurice, the president of Bill Jet, a hockey operation and a general manager, was also praised.
Corresponding to the whole team, the President has expressed the team’s victory against Edmonton Olers in the Game 7 in the Stanley Cup Final, as a proof of the patience of the group, toughness, and championship.
“The two teams showed tremendous will, exercise talent, and incredible talent,” said the President. “After all, Panthers stood on their ground and did what you had to do as a champion. You can’t be a champion unless you do that.”
Following the President’s remarks, Panthers owner Vincent Viola and Tokachuku also spoke.
“This is a great day for me, and I’m really grateful for being an American every day,” said Tkachuk.
After the speech, the President was given to the Golden Hocci -C stick and the forehead jersey, and gave the 45th and 47th on his back to 47. In addition, Jersey featured “Potus” in one of the shoulders that usually indicate the captain or alternative.
