On the issue of crime, it appears to be another victory for Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.
Data from the Federal Bureau of Investigation Crime Data Explorer shows that some cities in the state have a lower rate of violent crime.
Cape Coral is the lowest in violent crime, with three more Florida cities appearing in the top 10 of the least violent cities in the country.
Memphis has the highest rate of violence, followed by St. Louis with the second highest rate of violent crime, and Cleveland with the third.
A total of 25 violent crimes were included in the study, including but not limited to:

2. assault
3. Drug crime
4. murder
5. Invitation
Florida survey results:
Cape Coral records the lowest rate of violent crime. Tallahassee came in third place. Miami Gardens continues at 4th, while Miramar ranks at 7th. FBI statistics show that Florida stands out as the only state with four cities on the list of cities with the lowest rate of violent crime per 100,000 residents.
Florida, the largest violent crime rate, is Gainesville, ranked 131st in the nation.

“If crime is very common in a particular city, authorities will naturally want to raise the level of law enforcement. This means that funding other aspects of the community is likely to be put on the backburner, which can have a detrimental effect on the community,” Garmill said.
