Christmas comes early for some Floridians through free devices and internet

The Figgers Foundation announced a new initiative to provide eligible Floridians with a free device, three years of internet service, and 4G LTE cell phone service. Devices are limited, so early application is strongly encouraged, especially if your family is looking for support and connectivity during the holiday season.

Residents of Florida’s 18 counties can apply for a free device through Florida Connect.

Florida Connect devices will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis and quantities are limited. This program is designed to bring technology directly to communities that may have limited connectivity.

Counties covered by Florida Connect:

Tallahassee Region: Gadsden County, Jefferson County, Madison County, Taylor County

Gainesville Area: Lafayette County, Dixie County, Gilchrist County, Levy County, Putnam County, Bradford County, Union County

Jacksonville Area: Hamilton County

Tampa area: Hardy and Highland counties

Southwest Florida: DeSoto County, Glades County, Hendry County

Palm Beach Area: Okeechobee County

“Christmas is a time to help our neighbors, which is why we’re glad our foundation can participate in the Florida Connect program,” said Freddie Figgers. “This is a free program for eligible Floridians, and many families are encouraged to check out our website and donate today. “If these devices help one child get through school or one parent find work, then this program has achieved its goal. Our mission is to help families who are most in need, especially during the holidays.” Figgers.
