Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has announced the creation of the Florida Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) task force.
“Florida has set financially conservative governance standards, and our new Florida Dozi Task Force will do more to serve the people of Florida,” DeSantis officially states. said in a statement. “Eliminate redundant committees and committees, review the operations and spending of state universities and universities, use artificial intelligence to further investigate state agencies to uncover hidden waste, and spending habits of local businesses audits to shed light on waste and bloat.”
Florida Republican State Rep. Tiffany Esposito represents Fort. Myers Area submitted its HB 305 earlier this week. This called on the state to establish a Doge division similar to the one recently launched by President Donald Trump’s administration.
According to a press release from Desantis’ office, Florida’s Doge is:
We implement a multifaceted approach to modernizing state governments to eliminate bureaucratic bloat and optimally serve the people of Florida.
Use AI and new technologies to identify waste and violations. This year we will abolish 70 additional boards and committees. It digs deep into all aspects of university and university operations, and makes recommendations to the Governor and the state board of education, and to eliminate wasted spending. Use AI to complement ongoing efforts to verify operationality in state agencies, identify more ways to reduce unnecessary spending and eliminate bureaucracy. Use publicly available county and local government spending records to examine local government spending by exposing bloat within local governance. Supports Kuzi’s federal efforts to save taxpayers’ money by repaying unused or surplus federal dollars allocated to the state.
