Epic Universe lifts Comcast’s theme park count, says report

Epic Universe’s first holiday season helped boost Comcast’s fourth-quarter theme park revenue, the company reported Thursday.

Sales from October to December 2025 were $2.89 billion, an increase of 21.9% compared to the same period in 2024. This figure contributed to a 21.9% increase in the company’s Content & Experiences division, which includes its movie studio and media businesses.

“We’re really pleased with Epic’s performance as we continue to grow per-cap spend and admissions across our resorts, even though we’re not yet operating at full capacity,” Chief Financial Officer Jason Armstrong said on a conference call with market analysts following the release of the results. The theme park debuted in May.

“We have made meaningful progress in increasing ridership throughput and remain focused on achieving higher admissions, stronger caps, and additional operating leverage over time to achieve further scale over the coming quarters,” he said.

New Universal Studios coaster will be Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift

Epic’s year has been “phenomenal,” Comcast CEO Brian Roberts said.

“I think the plan is to continue to invest behind that park over time,” he said. “But I think this is a year where we continue to drive forward with our original goal of keeping our hotels full.” He said Universal Orlando’s hotel occupancy increased by 3% and average daily room rates increased by 20%.

Attendance numbers and revenue for individual theme parks are not reported. There was no mention of the opening and performance of the horror Unleashed, which haunts Las Vegas year-round.

Turning to the attractions sector for 2026, Roberts cited the opening of a kids park in Frisco, Texas, the debut of the Fast and Furious roller coaster at Universal Studios Hollywood, and the start of construction on a theme park in the United Kingdom.

Comcast, which also operates broadband, media and movie studio businesses, reported overall results of $32.31 billion in the fourth quarter, an increase of 1.2%. For the full year, the company’s sales were $123.71 billion, down from $123.73 billion in 2024.

The number of theatrical releases in the quarter was down 20.2% as Wicked: For Good and Black Phone 2 outperformed the first Wicked movie and Wild Robot in 2024. Roberts promoted films scheduled for release in 2026, including Steven Spielberg’s “The Odyssey,” “Disclosure,” “Super Mario Galaxy Movie,” and “Minions 3.”

The Super Bowl, Winter Olympics and NBA All-Star Game are also scheduled, all of which will be watched on Comcast-owned NBC and Peacock platforms.
