Cool weather conditions and continued drop in temperatures have caused water parks in Central Florida to close for several days.
With overnight temperatures forecast to be in the 30s, many attractions have been forced to adjust their schedules. Typhoon Lagoon at Walt Disney World. Volcano Bay at Universal. SeaWorld’s water park, Aquatica Orlando, and SeaWorld’s day resort, Discovery Cove, were all closed on Tuesday.
Disney plans to reopen Typhoon Lagoon on January 1st. The attraction’s sister park, Blizzard Beach, had already been closed for winter maintenance before reopening on February 15th. (This is also the day Typhoon Lagoon is scheduled to be closed for scheduled maintenance.)
Universal also plans to reopen Volcano Bay on January 1st.
Aquatica and Discovery Cove are closed until Wednesday, and the company is evaluating Thursday’s operations, including Aquatica’s waterpark’s new after-hours walk-through experience, “Illuminate.”

High temperatures Wednesday are expected to be in the low 60s, Thursday into the low 60s and back into the 70s region this weekend.
Island H2O Water Park, a tourist attraction in Kissimmee, was already closed for the season. It is scheduled to reopen on March 6th. Legoland Florida’s water park is also closed and is not scheduled to reopen until mid-February.
