It takes a few days to listen to Chris Brown’s massive discography, but the pop star packed as many songs as possible into a set of more than two hours at Camp World Stadium on Tuesday night.
Fans squeezed their seats from the floor to the upper bowl and caught a set list of over 50 songs. This includes medleys and partial snippets presented as snapshots of Brown’s 20-year career. The “Breezy Bowl XX” tour, which began in Amsterdam in June before the state took place in Miami at the end of July, shares the story of Brown’s trials and victory since beginning his career at the age of 16.
As if the assembled audience had yet to know Brown’s global stardom and success, Giant Videoboard promoted the singer’s 25 Grammy nominations and 118 songs on Billboard’s Top 100 chart just before the performers appeared on stage.
The retrospective set began with reminiscing about Brown’s rising stardom with early tracks, “Run It” and “Gimme That,” which appeared on his debut self-titled album in 2005.
The energy remained high as fans danced and sang alongside hits like “Yo (sorry Miss)” and “Yeee 3x.”
From the beginning, production values were revealed on two X-shaped stages with a video screen and two huge inflatable statues. One is a singer from the cover of his first album, and the other is a modern expression.

Because of all his success, Brown endured much controversy and negative media attention. It is especially due to the attacks of his girlfriend Rihanna in 2009. Some of the dark chapters of the stars were mentioned in a video montage to open the show’s second act, “The Fall.”
This segment hit some of Brown’s recession and self-discovery reflected in “10 toes,” “Grass Not Green,” “Drunk Text Messages,” and “Don’t Review Me.”
In the “fantasy” section of the show, Breezy Bowl XX piloted around and around Brown in very humpy choreographic movements, making it a little more X-rate.
Even in this part of the concert, Brown flew overhead with wires and harnesses, landing on B-stage near the back of the floor to surprise the crowd. The songs in this section ranged from the romantic “You” to the flirty “kiss kiss.”
Other moments were more obviously sensual. During “Take You Down,” a female audience member took her to the stage and lay in a chair in the chis lounge where Brown gave her a lap dance.
The final act of the show touched on Brown’s legacy in the world of pop and R&B music. The singer returned to the stage wearing a Michael Jackson-esque outfit, bringing the party vibe back to “Faithful,” “Poppin,” “No Air,” and the finale “Eternal.”
The energy never wavered as fans danced and sang to every word in the final song of the night. Although Brown’s career has already expanded for 20 years, the show has made it clear that “refreshing” will not go anywhere.
