Legoland Florida theme parks have revealed the name of their underconfigured space-themed indoor roller coaster. The ride, which is scheduled to open in early 2026, will be called the Galacticoaster.
“The Galacticoaster marks the first indoor coaster built inside the main park since the opening of Legoland Florida in 2011. From the start, it was aimed at guests getting a moment of soaking up.”
“From engineering accuracy to LEGO DNA at large, guests experience LEGO storytelling, more excitement and more global fun than ever,” he said.
Winter Haven Park, owned by Merlin Entertainment Group, said the Galactic Coaster will become “the most ambitious and technically advanced ride ever built at Legoland Resort.”
LEGOLAND has also released some of the stats for the family-friendly coaster. It has a truck that is almost 1,500 feet tall and reaches 50 feet tall. (According to the Roller Coaster Data Base, the Sister Attraction Dragon is similar in length, standing at 42.7 feet.) The Galacticoaster’s 48 track sections are supported in 120 rows. The building’s footprint is the size of 10 basketball courts. The station conveyor belt weighs 9 tons.
Construction of the coaster has been underway for over a year. It has been around the time of Cypress Gardens, a steel coaster and attraction that opened as a swamp in 2004.
Galacticoaster has been added to the official LEGOLAND Florida website, but the exact opening date has not been announced. Its entrance is called Spaceport 885, and its number is a reference to the Space Scooter, Lego Set No. 885. There is a theme queue, a souvenir stop called Orbital Outspost for visitors aged 1-4, called Duplo Tot Spot, and a “Soft Play Zone.”
LEGOLAND CA has also won a Galactic Coaster, but it has a SpacePort 886 that supports LEGO Space buggy sets. It will also open early next year and will be the first new coaster at the theme park in 20 years. The two coasters represent a $90 million investment, Merlin said.
