Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens are throwing 13-year residents of the Farewell Party, One Horned Cyro Cello and Sanford Attraction for PJ.

The animals are being taken to the Buffalo Zoo as part of a species survival plan, a related function of the zoo and aquarium. The role of PJs helps support the population as breeding men. Buffalo Zoo has successfully bred this species. They produce three offspring through natural and scientific breeding methods.

The farewell event will be set Saturday from 9am to 3pm and coincides with world rhinoceros day. Activities include Keeper Chat, Rhino-themed activities, and artwork created by PJ. The charm is currently hosting farewell auctions that include some of Rhino’s Art, Zoo Tours and other items. (Auctions will close at 3pm on Saturdays.

Party festivals are included with regular zoo admissions.

One large horn rhino weighs between 4,000 and 6,000 pounds and is 6 feet tall. Their single horns are about 8-25 inches long and continue to grow throughout their life. Horns are used to search for food and forage roots. This species relies on increased hearing to detect danger. When surprised, the rhinos will be charged and reach speeds of up to 30 mph.
