LEGOLAND Florida has introduced an upgraded US Capitol Building to the Miniland USA section of Winter Haven Theme Park.

The structure, slid in time for Independence Day, features 381,000 Lego bricks. The park’s master model builder spent 1,500 hours on the project.

“What you want to do with models is to make the models as accurate as possible,” Calvin Casey, master model builder at LEGOLAND Florida, said in Park Video. For the latest renovation, lighting was added under the Capitol dome and lamp posts were placed on the premises.

The model continues to show off details of the Lego-style architecture, and is still on the forefront by marching minifigures. Other Washington, DC, Miniland landmarks include the White House, Smithsonian and Washington Memorial.
