Sunrise, Fla. – The 12 eligible federal teams at the upcoming Olympic Winter Olympics Milan Cortina 2026 have announced today’s first six athletes to today’s reserve sights.

Finland: Alexander BarkovUSA: Matthew Tokachuk

Reinhart, 29, will be making his first appearance at the Olympic Winter Games. The Stanley Cup champion has already had an embellished international career, winning gold in Canada at the IIHF U18 (2013), U20 (2015) and Men’s World Championships (2016), and winning bronze at the 2012 U18 tournament and bronze at the 2019 Men’s World Championships. He also helped Canada win the 2025 NHL four-nation showdown along with current Panthers teammates Sam Bennett and Brad Marchand.

The 29-year-old Barkov represented Finland for the second time at the Winter Olympics, winning a bronze medal in 2014 along with current Panthers assistant coach Tuomo Root. Barkov was one of two Florida Panthers sent to the 2014 Winter Olympics (Tomas Kopecky). As the first Finnish-born NHL captain to lift the Stanley Cup, Barkov also won the silver medal that represents his home country at the 2016 IIHF Men’s World Championships. In the 2025 NHL 4 Nations showdown, Barkov served as Finland captain.

Sturm, 30, won the silver medal that represents Germany at the 2023 IIHF Men’s World Championships, and will be taking part in the Winter Olympic Games for the first time in his career.

The 28-year-old Barinskiss represented Latvia at the 2022 Winter Olympics. He helped his home country win his first medal in the IIHF tournament, winning bronze at the 2023 IIHF Men’s World Championships and giving two assists in 10 tournament games, including a 4-3 overtime victory in the bronze medal game.

Tkachuk, 27, captured the US-leading gold in the bronze of the 2015 IIHF U18 World Junior Championship and the 2016 U20 WJC. He recently served as alternative captain in the 2025 NHL 4 Nations showdown, scoring three points (2-1-3) in three games. Tkachuk will join the Panthers president of Hockey Operations & General Manager, Billjit, who serves as assistant general manager of the 2026 US Olympic Men’s Ice Hockey Team.

The Olympic Winter Games Milan Cortina will be held in Italy from Friday, February 6, 2026 to Sunday, February 22, 2026.
