Sunrise, Fla. — Vitek Vanecek stopped all 21 shots he faced in his Florida debut, with the Panthers beating the Buffalo Sabres 4-0 on Saturday night.
AJ Greer, Carter Verhaeghe, Anton Lundell and Sam Bennett all scored as the Panthers won their sixth game. Vanecek, which was bought from San Jose on Wednesday, took the first shutout of the season and 10th place in his career.
Captain Alexander Barkov gave him an assist and gave him six points in his last two games. Nate Schmidt added two assists.
Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen made 32 saves for the Sabers, who lost six consecutive games.
