More monster-related details have surfaced about the Universal Horror Elshed, which is scheduled to open in Las Vegas later this summer.
Created by Orlando-based Universal’s destinations and experiences, the attraction features Area 15 Entertainment Complex, with craft cocktails and retail theme bars as well as four mazes in Halloween horror nights.
In the Universal Monster House storyline, visitors can see the lab houses of Monster Hunter Van Helsing, Mummy Tomb, Dracula Castle, Frankenstein’s monsters and his bride.
“You can follow Van Helsing when he fights all of your favorite classic monsters,” show director Nate Stevenson said in a promotional video for the attraction.
“Costumes and makeup have always been an important part of telling the story of a universal monster,” said production manager Lorelei Lee. “The more details you can put into these outfits and makeup, the more characters will be richer and it’s scary to all the guests will encounter.”
The promotional video includes half a dozen creative types, most of which have HHN credits. And ultimately, you get a glimpse of Jack the Clown.
The Las Vegas space also includes a boiler bar, according to a news release.
“The boiler is the same part of hellish spectacle and welcoming reprieve, providing guests with the perfect vantage point for those seeking instant rest while immersed in the action, enjoying craft cocktails under the enormous fiery machine.”
“You’re not really exposed to one type of horror, one type of character. It’s multiple characters from multiple different environments that will become your nightmare night.”
Other thematic homes from Universal Horror Unleashed, revealed on October 31, include the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and The Exorcist: Believer and Scarecrow: The Reaping by Blumhouse.
The attraction is scheduled to debut on August 14th. For tickets and more information, please visit universalhorrorunleashed.com.
