“They were brave in using NSA platforms to be professionally used to carry out these kinds of truly horrifying behavior,” Tulsi Gabbard said.
Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard said on February 25 that more than 100 officials from the US Intelligence Reporting Agency have been fired after being identified as participants in a secret chat.
“We have over 100 people from the entire Intelligence Reports community who contributed and participated in this. It’s a really terrible violation of trust,” Gabbard told Fox News.
According to Gabbard, the authorities did not comply with basic rules and standards.
“Today I issued an order that all of them have been fired and their security clearances will be revoked,” she said.
Gabbard confirmed on Tuesday that the chat rooms were authentic.
“When I see what these people are saying, they were brave in using NSA platforms aimed at professional use to carry out this kind of truly horrifying behavior,” Gabbard said. He spoke on Fox. “And they were brave in doing this, because when was the last time someone really held accountable? Certainly not the last four years, not the last ten years, but perhaps in 20 years. No. We see some of the biggest violations of American trust in the intelligence community.”
She added: And politicization can begin to rebuild trust in these institutions that serve the American people and have a vital mission to ensure safety, security and freedom. โ
The agency said the Intelligence Reporting Agency’s collaboration platform will be used to help them achieve the mission.
“The potential misuse of these platforms by small groups of individuals is not representative of the community.” “An investigation is underway to address this misuse of the government system.”
