(Nerdwallet) – Disney World was a popular summer destination for families with children during school breaks. With ticket prices low and new discounts rolling out this month, summer 2025 is poised to be the cheapest time to visit the park, shattering the long-standing Disney myth that budget-conscious travelers should avoid summer months.
Disney World’s Summer 2025 contract

Starting March 27th, Disney will launch a collection of offers aimed at making the summer season more affordable, especially for families with children. These include:
50% Off Children’s Tickets: Children’s Tickets from 3 to 9 years old will be 50% Off for stays of 3 or more days from May 27 to September 20, 2025. Free Food: If you want to buy a 4-day undelineated, 4-day (or long) package, or at Select Disney Resort hotels with Park Hopper ticket options, get Disney Dining Plans of Disnery Dining Plans. This offer applies to certain date visits between June 29th and December 22nd, 2025. Typically, Disney dining plans cost around $100 per adult and $30 per child. 30% OFF Part of Walt Disney World Hotel: 30% off rooms at certain Disney Resort hotels starting from August 1st to October 11th to October 11th, 2025.
Other ongoing Disney ticket agreements include free admission to Disney Water Park for Disney Resort Hotel guests on check-in by the end of 2025.

Summer is an amazing sweet spot for Disney deals
New deals aren’t the only things that make summer a valuable season. Walt Disney World-Based ticket prices have already been one of the lowest in the summer months.
Nerdwallet analyzed daily Walt Disney World ticket prices from March 26th until the end of 2025. Ticket prices vary by park, but using the cheapest park of the day (usually Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park), Nerdwallet discovered that the average ticket price for adults at Walt Disney World per day is $153.55.
However, during the two summer months, the average tickets are much lower. August is the second cheapest month for Walt Disney World tickets, with an average starting adult ticket costing just $133. It is primarily considered summer (fall starts on September 22, 2025), but this is the cheapest month, with ticket prices only average at $125.
Of the remaining months of 2025, there are five months of five to go here (and the average base that goes along with it, adult ticket price per day).
September ($125.47). August ($133.03). June ($153.50). May ($154). July ($157.22).
Especially in December. This is popular not only for cool weather, but also for Christmas festivals. Spring break and October (when you can experience Halloween at Disney) are also relatively expensive times to visit.

How about the crowd?

Chelsea Philly, Disney’s Vice President of Customer Experience and Commercial Strategy, says many people planning a Disney vacation tend to assume that they are the busiest in the summer.
“But when we talk to guests who actually visit us in the summer, the perception of crowds is some of the lowest of other seasons,” she said. “They actually have a higher ability to get what they want to do.”
She points out that Disney spent a lot of time analyzing it, a paradox.
“We always priced according to the demands we see,” Philly says.
In other words, if ticket prices are low – it tends to be in the summer months, so you can expect fewer crowds.
Changes in travel habits, especially after the pandemic
Since Disney introduced a three-tier pricing system in 2016, this has made the low season much cheaper than the peak season, but Disney vacationers have begun adjusting their schedules.
Rather than cramming it up during the infamous busy Christmas week or summer holidays, many have shifted Disney trips to rain, which is much cheaper, for example, on Tuesdays in mid-January.
Since the Covid-19 pandemic, changes in travel patterns have become even more pronounced.
“There are more parents who are willing to take their kids out of school, especially for long holidays,” Philly says. “And we have more parents who are not willing to look forward to taking shorter holidays throughout the year.”
It’s true that tickets to Disney aren’t cheap at all, but this summer offers may offer budget-sensitive families the best chance to ultimately book that much-anticipated trip.
Remember one burden of travelling to Walt Disney World in the summer of 2025, which even Disney acknowledges that it’s a painful fact.
“There’s one myth about Summer that you can’t arrest you,” Philly says. “It’s hot.”
Something new at Walt Disney World in the summer of 2025
In addition to low prices and new discounts, families heading to Walt Disney World in the summer of 2025 will find a wave of new entertainment, attractions and special kids’ activities.
From May 27th to September 1st, 2025, Disney will be rolling out “Kid Zones” in multiple parks, featuring games, music, dance and surprise character appearances. Think of it as a way to spend it wirelessly from a few. For example, at Magic Kingdom Theme Park, kids’ zones are located in both Storybook Circus and Tomorrowland. Epcot will debut a new play space in Goofy-starring Communicore Hall, turning the area into a splash-friendly game party.
Would you like to stay at a Disney Resort Hotel? The family will get more perks. Guests at Select Hotels, including Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, Pop Century Resort, Caribbean Beach Resort, and Wilderness Lodge, can expect a scheduled character look and an expanded lineup of themed activities such as games and movie nights.
Three major entertainment additions will also premiere this summer.
The Little Mermaid – Disney’s musical adventures at Hollywood Studios bring Ariel’s story to life with new sets and special effects, debuting on May 27, 2025. Disney Villains: Unfairly even in Hollywood Studios, letting the audience decide which villains have signed the biggest deal in this fun dark stage show. To repeat, it will debut on May 27th, 2025. A new night parade, Disney Starlight will make its debut at Magic Kingdom. Featuring characters like “Peter Pan”, “Encanto” and “Frozen”, it marks the first new night parade at Disney World in nearly a decade.

If you haven’t visited in a while, check out new attractions such as the Tron Lightcycle/Run at Magic Kingdom and the Journey of Water.
