Tom Homan told reporters that President Donald Trump’s border policies save lives and secure a country.
WASHINGTON – 68,000 illegal aliens have been arrested in the United States over the past three months, Tom Homan, who was designated border emperor by President Donald Trump, told White House reporters on April 23.
“And despite what the district court is saying, we’ll continue,” Homan said, referring to the ongoing legal battle surrounding Trump’s deportation order.
US District Judge Alvin Hellerstein issued a ruling on April 9, extending it to April 22, blocking the federal government from acting as a basis for deportation, citing the lack of legal protections for those facing potential elimination.
Homan pushed back the court’s decision and said the appeal was ongoing.
“Maybe we have to refrain from some of the deportation operations we are undertaking, but we are not going to stop them from taking them off the streets of the United States while we now seek these people, arrest them, and waiting for the court to decide,” he said.
He further summoned the enemy laws of foreigners to allow for the prompt deportation of individuals deemed dangerous to society.
Homan, who proposes who are arrested, is a punitive critic of critics who suggest that he is not given the opportunity to sue their case in court.
“They want to say that our administration is inhumane and that we are not giving due process,” he said.
“It is incredible to see that when no one ever asks for a legitimate process when they cross the border, they are asking for more due processes, more due processes, more processes for these designated terrorist groups.
“When we crossed the border, no one asked for a review.”
He highlights his role in securing borders including walls, supporting legal immigration, and identifying human crises and medical emergencies, suggesting that such efforts will help save “thousands of” lives every day.
“Every place where we build boundary barriers, illegal immigration has fallen, and the flow of illegal drugs has fallen,” Homan said. “But you know, what no one is talking about, the wall saves lives.”
The border emperor said the administration is working to fulfill Trump’s campaign promises to force public safety threats and secure borders to protect national security.
Among those recently arrested are 27 members of the infamous Tren de Aragua Transnational Gang.
“As doubtful, Tren de Aragua is more than just a street gang. It is a highly structured terrorist organization that has destroyed American families with brutal violence, engaged in human trafficking and spread deadly drugs through the community,” Attorney General Pamela Bondy said in a statement.
“Today’s indictments and arrests span three states and destroys the (gangster) infrastructure as we work to completely dismantle and cleanse this organisation from our country.”
Homan said the effort exemplified successful cooperation between immigrants and customs enforcement officers and state and local law enforcement agencies, marking the first-time administration use that allowed for prosecution of individuals participating in ongoing criminal enterprises and allowed criminal illegal aliens to be targeted.
“We sent a strong message to Tren de Aragua,” he said. “We’ll continue doing this.”
