The Orlando Science Centre is preparing for this two-day makefest this weekend. This is an event focused on creating and mastering the art of tools.
The sessions include interactive workshops and local artisans presenting handmade items.
Participants will be able to meet manufacturers such as Burning Designs Creations, Wonderly Co., Black Bee Honey, Love Club Labs, Black Lab Soapery, and Florida Dairy Farms. They share their work and stories over the weekend. The museum lists activities as possibilities, such as 3D modeling and paper roller coaster design.
Practical projects and storytime sessions for children will be held in the Science Center’s Kidstown Creative Corner. Also available is the 40-minute national geographic film “Robots,” focusing on new technology.
Makefest is included in regular admission to the Orlando Science Centre. Tickets cost $31 ($24 for ages 2-11). Opening hours on Saturdays and Sundays are from 10am to 5pm for tickets. Visit OSC.org.
