Spring has arrived in Florida, bringing warmer temperatures, beautiful flowers blooming, pollen in the air, and Easter season. Over the holiday weekend, Orlando area churches, businesses and attractions plan to host families for Easter egg hunts and activities.
Here are some ideas for celebrating Easter in Central Florida.

The City of Ocoee will hold its annual Easter Eggstravaganza with an egg hunt, games, music, face painting, food trucks and more outside the Ocoee Lakeshore Center. The free event will be held April 4th from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 125 N. Lakeshore Drive in Ocoee. Before the outdoor festival, families can attend Brunch with the Easter Bunny from 9 to 11 a.m. for $15 per person. Advance registration is required. More information: 407-905-3180 or ocoee.org
At Egg Ocoee at Glad Tidings Church, children are divided into four age-based zones where eggs are dropped by helicopter. Photos with the Easter Bunny, games, and an inflatable bouncy house will also be available for free. The event will be held from 9 a.m. to noon April 4 at 2009 E. Fullers Cross Road in Ocoee. Magic 107.7 Easter Egg Hunt gives kids the chance to hop down a bunny trail and search for hidden eggs during nine different hunts. Additionally, there will be booths with games and activities available for purchase at discounted prices. The free festival will be held from 9:30 a.m. to noon April 4 at 155 W. Warren Avenue in downtown Longwood. The same morning, a “Bunny Breakfast” begins at 9 a.m. and includes a sausage patty, pancakes, drinks and an Easter Bunny photo op. Faith Assembly of God has activities for children at each of its four campuses, including activity zones, food trucks, and continuous Easter egg hunts every 30 minutes. The festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on April 4. Campuses are located at 9307 Curry Ford Road and 2740 East Michigan Street in Orlando, 2641 Red Bug Lake Road in Casselberry, and 2690 N. The Central Florida Zoo offers a “Hippie Hop Adventure” with the Easter Bunny, offering opportunities to collect treats, make crafts, and play games. The Easter Bunny will be available for photos with your child. This year, we will also be holding an “Adopt an Animal” veterinarian check experience (for a fee) where you bring a stuffed animal and pretend to have a health check. Boxy Park Lake Nona will host an Easter “Eggstravaganza” where you can find thousands of eggs, as well as coloring stations, crafts and games, Easter character meet and greets, a photo booth and local vendors. The City of Windermere will host an egg hunting “festival” sponsored by the Windermere Police Foundation. The lucky child who finds the golden ticket wins a bicycle. The event also includes a festive parade and photo op with the Easter Bunny. Enjoy the festival on April 4 from 10 a.m. to noon at 520 Main Street in Windermere. Island H2O Live hosts an “Egg Stravaganza” for water park visitors, where eggs are hidden for young guests to find. The hunt is included in park admission and will be held April 3-5 at 3230 Inspiration Drive in Kissimmee. More information: islandh2owaterpark.com
Kings Orlando is hosting an adults-only egg hunt in the bowling alley after sunset. Each egg comes with a “Wild Dare Card” with challenges ranging from bowling with your non-dominant hand to having the bartender choose your next shot. We offer prizes such as golden eggs. Green Meadows Petting Farm in Kissimmee is hosting a “Hippie Hopity Easter Egg Hunt” featuring bunny photography, farm-style fun, a tractor pull experience and animal encounters. The Audubon Bird of Prey Center is putting a “wild twist” on an Easter tradition by hosting a raptor egg hunt. Find 7 hidden raptor egg images and fact sheets, and learn about hawks, owls, eagles, and other raptors along the way. Church at the Cross will host a family-friendly event on Easter Sunday. Enjoy the kid-friendly festivities, including an egg hunt, games, prizes, and food. The event begins April 5 at 9:45 a.m. at 700 Good Homes Road in Orlando. The church will also host a “Great Spring Sing” event for children from preschool to fifth grade on April 8 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. More information: catcorlando.com

Family events
Eat, Pray, and Swim at Lucky’s Lake Swimming is a Central Florida tradition that dates back at least a decade. Sunrise service begins at 7:11 a.m. on April 5, followed by an open water swim and pancake breakfast. Of course, not all visitors are required to swim. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets to the event, which will be held at 6645 Lake Cane Drive in Orlando. More information: luckyslakeswim.com
SeaWorld Orlando, in conjunction with Z88.3 FM and Shadow and Grace, is offering a free Easter Sunrise service with leading worship services. The service will be led by Jeremy Rosado, with Pastor Joel Hunter delivering the Easter message. Gates open at 5 a.m. and service begins at 6:30 a.m. April 5 at 7007 SeaWorld Drive in Orlando. Gaylord Palms Resort is offering a variety of spring offers for families through April 5th. Visitors can enjoy an “eggpress garden” in the resort’s atrium, spring flowers, themed light shows, a garden gnome scavenger hunt, and more. At select times through April 5, young people can meet the Easter Bunny. The Spring Festival is currently running through April 5 at 6000 W. Osceola Parkway in Kissimmee. The Morse Museum in Winter Park will be celebrating Easter weekend Friday through Sunday with free admission and live music Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. The museum will be open April 3 from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., April 4 from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., and April 5 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at 445 N. The Promenade at Sunset Walk will host a car and truck show on Saturday of Easter weekend, featuring live music by DJ Jennifer and artist appearances. Easter Bunnies and thousands Easter Eggs were hidden around the promenade and distributed by show car drivers. All makes and models are invited to attend the show. Urban Air Adventure Park will host the “Ultimate Easter Egg Hunt” at the trampoline park with family fun and Easter crafts. The event is included in paid admission from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., April 4, at 5758 Hamlin Grove Trail in Winter Garden. More information: facebook.com

At Icon Park, visitors can take photos with the Easter Bunny, and photo packages purchased include a free merry-go-round ride on the promenade. You’ll also receive discounts at the Orlando Eye, Madame Tussauds and Sea Life Orlando Aquarium. There is a $20 deposit per family for this experience, which counts toward the purchase of a printed photo package or USB package.
