Norman, Oklahoma — Freshman guard Jeremiah scored a career-high 31 points, raising hopes for the NCAA Tournament Wednesday night by defeating 15th place Missouri 96–84.
This was Oklahoma’s fifth victory in the top 25 teams this season, with Missouri ranked the highest among them. The Sooners (18–12, 5–12 Southeastern Conference) were losing out to rank opponents Kentucky and Ole Miss by combining four points.
Mark Mitchell scored 18 points and Caleb Grill added 16 points and eight rebounds to Missouri (21-9, 10-7), losing three of the four.
Missouri hit Oklahoma 82–58 on February 12, but Oklahoma shot 69% off the field in the first half of the rematch, defeating a 50-37 lead. This was half the opening half of the season.
Oklahoma senior Sam Godwin scored 12 points in the senior night before being injured at 5:32 in the first half. He didn’t come back. He sat on the bench the second half, with a large sack of ice around his right knee and braces on his legs.
