Several victims have been hospitalized.
Police responded to an active shooter report on Florida State University (FSU) campus on April 17, with multiple people admitted to the hospital.
The shooter was confirmed by the school’s official emergency notification and warning system FSualert shortly after 12pm, saying he was in the student union area and ordered students to evacuate.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement announced that it is also actively engaged in this situation with X, and efforts to reach them have failed.
The involvement of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) was confirmed by Director Kash Patel and Deputy Director Dan Bongino.
“The FBI is on site FSU,” Bongino said at X. “I’m on my way back from my LA office to DC and am still up to date with the airplane situation. I’ll update as I learn more.”
“My team and I have been explained about the shootings in Florida. The FBI Jacksonville team is supporting the ground,” Patel said. “We will provide full support to local law enforcement if necessary. FSU Community in your prayers. ”
The Florida Attorney General’s office is also involved.
“My office handles active shooter situations. FSUThe campus, and we will provide updates when it becomes available,” Attorney General James Usmier said in X.
Attempts to contact law enforcement officials for further confirmation and details have failed.
