Lubbock, Texas – JT Toppin scored 30 points and 14 rebounds as ninth-placed Texas Tech led the way with a 91-75 win over Colorado on Wednesday night, introducing it into the quarter-final round in next week’s Big 12 tournament.
This was the 13th double-double for sophomore Toppin, who is now transferring from New Mexico. He scored in double digits with five players in the home finale, high-tech (23-7, 14-5 big 12).
Chance McMillian added 15 points, while Christian Anderson and Kerwin Walton each scored 12 points. Dallion Williams scored 11.
Bangot Duck and Sebastian Ransik each scored 12 points for Colorado (11–19, 2–17).
McMillian went ahead with his technique to keep a 3-pointer for the opening basket in the first minute of the game. The Red Raiders began the game with 12-2 runs and finished the first half with an 18-7 sprint that ended with Anderson in a row of three.
