Over the past six weeks, US aircraft have attacked targets across areas managed by Houthi in Yemen, ending attacks on key sea lanes.

The Houthi-controlled ministry said on Monday that US airstrikes killed at least 68 Africans at immigration detention centres in northern Yemen.

The Yemen News Agency (SABA) said it had received a statement from the Ministry of Interior’s Civil Defense Department, reporting that Governor Sada, Hauti’s base, killed at least 68 people and injured 47 African migrants.

The Epoch Times contacted the US Department of Defense for comment, but did not receive a response by the time of publication.

Immigrants from Eritrea, Ethiopia and other African countries often cross the Bab-el-Mandab Strait and to Yemen on their way to oil-rich Saudi Arabia.

Graphic footage broadcast by the Al-Masirah Satellite News channel controlled by Houthi showed what looked like a corpse.

The Epoch Times were unable to confirm any complaints or footage.

On March 15, President Donald Trump ordered airstrikes in areas owned by Hooty in Yemen, vowing to use “overwhelming deadly force” until Iran-backed terrorists end their attacks on the critical sea lane.

Over the past six weeks, US aircraft have consistently achieved targets across regions managed by Houthi in Yemen, known as Operation Rough Rider.

“Since March 15, USCENTCOM forces have implemented a fierce, sustained campaign targeting Yemen’s Houthi terrorist organizations, restoring their freedom of navigation and deterrence,” the US Central Command said in a statement on April 27.

“These businesses have been implemented using detailed and comprehensive intelligence that ensures a fatal impact on Houthis while minimizing risks to civilians.”

“Minimize risks to civilians”

“We intentionally limit disclosure of details of ongoing or future operations to maintain operational security. The operational approach is highly intentional, but we will not disclose details about what we have done or what we will do.”

The Central Command has attacked more than 800 targets since the launch of Operation Rough Raud Rider, according to the statement. These strikes killed hundreds of Hooty fighters and numerous Hooty leaders, including senior Hooty missiles and UAV (unmanned aerial vehicles) officials, according to the Central Command.

Iran has supplied drones and drone technology to so-called resistance axis allies, including Yemen’s Houtis and Lebanese terrorist group Hezbollah.

Both use drones against Israel, but Houthis tended to target transport in the Red Sea and Bab El-Mandab Straits.

In October 2024, Central Command sent B-2 Spirit Stealth Bombers to target underground bunkers in Yemen.

The Houthi Terrorist Group attracts members from the Shia Muslim Zaydi community in northern Yemen.

Officially known as Ansal Allah, they have controlled the territory belts of Yemen’s capital, Sanaa, north and western Yemen since 2014.

On March 4th, Ansaralah was officially designated as a terrorist organisation by the US State Department.

In a statement announcing the designation, the State Department said: “Since 2023, Houthis has launched hundreds of attacks on commercial vessels in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden.
On April 18, at least 74 people were killed and 171 injured in a US strike at the Ras Isa port.

In its latest statement, Central Command said: “The US strike has destroyed the ability of RAS ISA ports to accept fuel.

Last year, the State Department released a status report on human trafficking in Yemen. Part of this is controlled by the Saudi-backed Republic of the Yemeni government (Royg). Leuke suspended in 2022 after the UN brokered a ceasefire and fought a long war with the Houches.

The report said, “The persistent rebellion by the Houches continued to be a key obstacle to Roig’s ability to combat all forms of human trafficking, including recruiting and using child soldiers.”

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
