As Walt Disney World reopens its test track attractions at Epcot, visitors can expect a new look and a new future focus, both indoors and outdoors, zooming out theme park attendees.
“The previous version of the ride was very technical. They were safe for the car. They showed us how to design the car,” senior project designer Dumbrookwell said Monday.
“We bring this human lens into the project, and we represent this human innovation, a concept that we have always dreamed of,” he said.
The tracks on the test track remain the same as their predecessors, but the surroundings have changed.
“We brought a brand new show to the attraction,” said Lisa Dowd, senior producer at Walt Disney Imagering during a preview of members of the media.

The new test truck queue includes a trio of 1900 General Motors concept cars. These are followed by recently developed small-scale concepts.
“It was important that the final exhibition existed in the future,” Dowd said.
The ride section clearly shows the quality of Epcot, futuristic, educational and dad’s Jokey. The lighting effects that show how self-driving cars can avoid disasters can give the atmosphere from the Tron Light Cycle/Run Coaster in Magic Kingdom. The sharp turns of the track run through natural scenes, Disney dark riding styles.
The new scene is a wide open, dome-shaped screen featuring what is called the great and beautiful tomorrow.

“You’re in this future city, so we’ll see future architecture around you and the flying cars,” Dowd said. “It’s really about the future of mobility.”
The space was inspired by the original view of Walt Disney’s Epcot, Brookwell said.
“It was in this place that technology, transportation and innovation were woven through the urban structure, and we got a lot of clues from it,” he said.
And with little warning, the test truck car zips out into the fresh air of Epcot and heads out on the familiar, but breathtaking trails that embrace near the approximately 65-mile building. Spy on the top of the nearby Mexican Pavilion and your trip is almost over.

The official test track reopens on July 22nd. Disney World workers have been experiencing previews for several days, and annual pass holders will use the virtual queue system on July 13th to get ride opportunities.
The attraction has been closed since last summer and has been changed. It is the third version of the test track that debuted in 1999 and reimagined in 2012. It was the Motion Of Motion website, which opened in 1982 at Epcot.
“We’ve had this beautiful building here since the first day of 1982, so it’s a bit of a celebration and rediscovering the building,” Dowd said.
