By Kelvin Chan LONDON (AP) – Apple users are beginning to break free from the iPhone maker’s so-called “wall gardens.” For years, the company blocked app developers from notifying people about payment methods for subscriptions and services that do not involve going through their own iOS app store. Some apps didn’t like this. This is why I couldn’t pay for my Spotify subscription from the app. But that changed last month when US District Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers issued a poignant decision against Apple that promised to shake up the iPhone app payments ecosystem. She ordered Apple to demolish barriers…

AP Technology Writer Michael Liedtke SAN FRANCISCO (AP) – Stripped by Apple’s plan to make a large portion of the US iPhone in India, President Donald Trump on Friday threatened to slap 25% tariffs on popular devices unless the tech giant starts building products in his home country. For decades, Apple has built most of its devices in China. There, they invest in large factories in tens of thousands of dollars that rely on a vast network of local suppliers. The company’s reliance on key pipelines outside the US has thrust tech trendsetters into the intersection of Trump’s trade war.…
ORLANDO, Fla. (WFLA) – Pet owners can add cane toads to their mount lists of clothes as it turns out to be potentially deadly for their hairy friends. Toads secrete milky toxin, called buphotoxin. This can make your pet sick, or even worse, even death, if consumed. Orlando veterinarian Dr. Jonathon Keener warns that swallowing can cause diarrhea and vomiting. If symptoms worsen, more serious effects are expected, such as dilation of the pupil, increased heart rate, and increased temperature. An affected dog can become coma, and if consumed in large quantities, it can even be killed within 15 minutes.…

Raleigh, North Carolina – Sergei Bobrovsky rarely conducts interviews without saying that. “For a moment at a time.” You will find he has not used adjectives before the “moment.” That’s because it’s not a difference for him. Every moment, big or small, is treated the same as a sage veteran. And for a team looking to win a back-to-back Stanley Cup, that’s the perfect mindset between the pipes. Tall to help the Florida Panthers take a 2-0 series lead in the Eastern Conference Finals, Bobrovsky defeated the Carolina Hurricane 5-0 on Thursday for 17 saves. “It was a good road…
