“Viva Mose!” On a sunny Friday in early May, senior officials, state park rangers and community members gathered at Fort Mose Historic State Park near St. Augustine. Chorus – translated as “Long Live Fort Mose!” – celebrated the ribbon cutting of a newly constructed replica of the Fort 1738, which holds a special place in American black history. In 1738, the Spanish governor of Florida chartered the Fort Maws settlement as a shelter for those fleeing slavery from the British colony of Carolina. Over the decades, an estimated 100 Africans have made the first legally licensed free black community at…
Two South Florida shark divers thought they were doing the right thing. However, John Moore Jr. and Tanner Munsell were charged with theft and were convicted in late 2022 of believing the illegal fishing longline of rescue of shark and goliath grouper.Last week, President Donald Trump mercilessly erupted two men and erased criminal records when lawyers and critics deemed them “a government overreach.”Their legal odyssey began on August 10, 2020, when Moore and Munsell saw a longline three miles away from the entrance to Jupiter, releasing 19 sharks and grouper from the hook and bringing the line to the shore. In Florida, the art of lazy is strong, especially when you can get an inner tube. The state has some great choices for several hours of tube running, mainly associated with natural springs, as flows to the river. One of the best is the Rainbow River in Dannellon, Marion County, in central Florida. Rainbow Springs State Park (https://www.floridastateparks.org/parks-and-trails/rainbow-springs-state-park) offers its own two-hour running option, but the county has its own park where you can double your time on the water. The four-hour run puts people in KP Hall Park (https://parks.marionfl.org/i-want-to/visit-kp-hole-park) where they rent tubes and come back. The cost is…

The biopsy confirmed that lymphoma, a type of cancer, was present in scar tissue that forms around the implant.Medren, who lives in St. Petersburg, underwent surgery in February to remove implants and scar…
Ripped a spectacular Universe Reporter notebook and looking back at the early notations of Orlando’s latest theme park. There are random creative type quotes, operational observations, and mild suggestions. To my surprise, the world has named how to train your dragon. As Berk Island rules the page, we start from there and think of the epic. •The theatre design features of the “Untrainable Dragon” show at Burke are worth applause. Audiences enter from both sides of the hall, so when people are instructed to fill in all available spaces, they are walking towards the center from both sides – the…
