The “Gone Girl” star reaffirmed the importance of hard-earned cash after her son turned to $6,000 sneakers.

Academy-winning actor Ben Affleck immediately reminds his children of the value of the dollar despite his multi-million dollar success.

During the premiere of “The Accountant 2” at the SXSW Film Festival over the weekend, the 52-year-old doubled in previous comments he made about teaching his son Samuel (a 13-year-old important financial lesson).
The two attended a sneaker convention on March 3rd. Samuel turned to a pair of $6,000 Dior Air Jordan 1 sneakers.

“Because you’re expensive,” he added.

On the red carpet, Affleck explains the need to humble their impulses and knows that they are not given money.

“That’s what happens when you say (let) you have to mow the lawn. Suddenly, they don’t want those shoes,” he told Access Hollywood when asked about the interaction.

“I’m like, ‘Man, you don’t need a thousand dollar shoes!” He’s like, ‘We have money.’ I said, “I have the money, you’re broken!”

Affleck shares 19-year-old Violet Anne and 16-year-old Seraphina Rose Samuel with her ex-wife and fellow actor Jennifer Garner.

The two were married from 2005 to 2018, and have continued to have three children on a steady pace with co-parents, and share the same hardworking mindset.

During the holiday season, the former couple met with their children to feed the homeless community during the Midnight Mission Charity event on Thanksgiving Day.
The Batman star, who had suffered from addiction in the past, told People Magazine in 2020 that he was forced to touch on the causes he believed, and felt he had a strong connection.

“It’s easy to throw your hands away and say there’s nothing you can do,” he said at the time.

“But the truth is, there are people who want to make their life better, they’re struggling, they need help and they can benefit from giving you a little money or a little time. What you do to be able to connect with people is really powerful.”

Aside from charity, Affleck has turned to remembering an actor struggling at the beginning of his career.

In an episode of “The Bill Simmons Podcast” in 2023, the “Gone Girl” actor discussed as a teenager in an effort to make his dream come true about how he shared a bank account with fellow high school actor Matt Damon.

“We were going to help each other and be there for each other,” he said at the time. “You were like you weren’t going to be alone. I’m not going to be alone. Let’s go there and do this together.”

Combined with over 80 film and television credits, Affleck holds a versatile behind the scenes CV as an established film producer, writer and director.

Affleck made his major debut in feature films in 1993 with “Dazed and Confused,” and later appeared in many blockbusters, including “Armageddon” (1998), “Pearl Harbor” (2001), and “The Town” (2010).

He won 75 awards out of a total of 144 nominations, including the screen-directly written screenplay of “Good Will Hunting” (1997), “The Best Motion Pictures of Argo” (2012).

The film is scheduled to appear in theaters on April 25th.
