Apparently taking the lead, the Panthers got a Go-Ard goal from Mackie Samoskevich after Kraken made a successful challenge to intervene the goaltender.
In the play, Evan Rodriguez was shoved into the fold in Seattle.
According to an official NHL review, “Rodriguez’s presence in the crease and his contact with the Dudcord’s stick undermined Samoskevich’s ability to play his position before Samoskevich’s goal.”
Without a doubt, this was a call for staff to be wrong.
“We were doing pretty well there, but the rules are rules,” Maurice said.
After a big save from Dacord, Seattle gave the lead, and Jared McCann made one pass from Adam Larson, passing Bobrovsky from the left circle, making it 2-1 at 7:03 in the third term.
After pulling Bobrovsky for an extra attacker, the Panthers convened a surge in activity around the Seattle net in a few minutes of regulation, but were unable to find a tied target.
In the end, the Panthers finished with one goal with 3.16.
