TALHASSEE, Fla. (WFLA) — Florida lottery this week celebrated the milestone and announced it has surpassed $48 billion in donations to the state education funds generated from lottery sales.
Since 1988, the state’s Education Enhancement Trust Fund has supported educational opportunities, strengthened student success and strengthened Florida’s workforce.
The shyness of just $50 billion has allowed the program to provide access to higher education and academic and financial support to those attending the University of Florida.

Florida lottery has also played a key role in sending students pursuing higher education on the Bright Futures Scholarships with more than $9.2 billion allocated to the program. Over $666 million was generated for the scholarship in the 2023-2024 fiscal year.
“We are thrilled to celebrate this incredible achievement,” said the secretary of Florida Lottery John F. Davis. “The funds generated by the Florida lottery will help build new classrooms, strengthen our technology and provide valuable scholarships. These investments will shape the future of our state, and will help all students to It’s essential to ensure that they have the opportunity to reach their full potential.”
The Florida Lottery also donated more than $17 billion to support public schools from kindergarten to high school.
