Sea Life Florida Aquarium has announced its opening day. The attraction will debut next to Legoland Florida on May 23rd in Winter Haven.
It’s a Friday heading into Memorial Day weekend, the day after the grand opening of Orlando’s spectacular Universe Theme Park.
The aquarium features over 3,000 marine animals, including black-chip leaf sharks, stingrays and big berry seahorses. 25 interactive exhibits and 180-degree marine tunnels offer a versatile view of the marine life. The attraction is not Lego themed, but includes a “Theme Park Under the Sea” display.

“One of the really cool features we have is this Ferris wheel,” curator Sarah McMahon said in a video released by The Attraction. “We have underwater fiber lighting, so each of these crumb shells is actually illuminated under the water.”

The new attraction, Legoland and the nearby Peppa Pig Theme Park are owned by Merlin Entertainment Group, which also operates Orlando Eye, Madame Tussauds and Icon Park on International Drive, Madame Tussauds and the Orlando Tusthers Madame and Arenas Life Orlando Aquarium.
Sea Life Florida admission is included in LEGOLAND Florida’s Elite and Gold Level Annual Passes. The aquarium can be added to your tickets at Legoland or Peppa Pig Park for $15. The LEGOLAND Florida website currently offers LEGOLAND Sea Life combo tickets starting at $89. Prices vary by date. Attraction officials say they will also be offering tickets only to the sea.
