(Hill) – President Trump is promoting a new internal vote showing Rep. Byron Donald (R-FLA.), the leader of the Florida Governor’s Race Survey.
Trump touted a poll conducted by victory insights in the Florida-based Republican poll.
Polls showed Donald leads the main field of virtual Republicans with 31% support. Lt. Col. Janet Nunez (R) dragged on with 4% support, state agricultural commissioner Wilton Simpson (R) with 3% support, and Miami Mayor Francis Suarez with 1% support.
No one will jump into the Republican primary because of the governor’s race, but Donald has told many Florida Republican donors that he plans to start bidding. Simpson and Nunes have both emerged as potential candidates for the position.
Trump’s support will have a ton of weight in the state’s Republican primary, given the president’s residence and the presence within the state.
Donald has long been Trump’s voice ally, supporting Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) in the 2024 Republican presidential primary. Donald sat in a Trump box during last year’s Republican National Convention, and last month Trump cried out to Donald at his first parade last month.
“Rise up, Byron,” Trump said at the parade last month. “What a future this is.”
