DeSantis signs new immigration bills to Florida law

Talahassee, Fla. – Within an hour of Florida legislature passing a new immigration enforcement bill, Gov. Ron DeSantis signed the bill to law, created a state commission for immigration enforcement, and has not been documented They imposed strict penalties on immigrants.

The law passed easily in both rooms. The main bill, sponsored by longtime Trump Ally state senator Joe Gluters (R. Sarasota), won 27-10 votes in the Senate and was later approved by the House of Representatives in a tally of 85-30.

Passing the bill will promote the deportation of undocumented immigrants and establish the state’s immigration executive committee. This will be chaired by the governor, agricultural committee member, the Attorney General and the state’s Chief Financial Officer.

The signature followed a period of tension between DeSantis and GOP lawmakers over supporting President Donald Trump’s immigration policies. DeSantis said: These are not simple questions… we’ve put it all together.

In total, three measures have been enacted. This implemented two bills and a memorial that granted the new board the authority to distribute $250 million in grants to local law enforcement agencies working with federal officials on immigration enforcement.
