Emergency recalls have been issued across North America for towable igloo coolers following multiple reports of fingertip amputations and bone fractures.
Igloo recalls more than a million people with 90-quart wheeled coolers in Canada, the US and Mexico, after the company received reports of cooler towing handles that caused serious injuries.
Approximately 47,000 of the affected products were sold in Canada, 1,060,000 in the US, and 23,000 in Mexico between May 2019 and February 2025, the advisor said.
Each recalled cooler is equipped with a tow handle, Health Canada said. The word “igloo” appears on the side of each cooler. This was available in a variety of body and lid colour combinations. All coolers were manufactured prior to January 2024.
Bicycle recall
According to a February 13 notification from Health Canada, the Canyon Speedmax bike is being recalled due to the possibility of stems and handlebar peeling that could knock riders down.
Equipped with the V21 Aerostem, the Canyon SpeedMax CF models R073 and R41 can experience fracture or breakage of the fork steerer tube. Fractures can result in the separation of the stem and handlebars, particularly following serious effects, such as hitting deep potholes, the advisory said.

“This can result in injuries in a fall or severe case, depending on the situation and the environmental conditions of the rider,” the health agency said.
A total of 383 affected products were sold in Canada from October 2016 to June 2024. As of February 12th, the German bicycle company had not received any reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.
Health Canada said owners should stop using the recalled products until the bike has been inspected and repaired by professional bicycle mechanics.
