Florida Sen. Rick Scott (R) with bipartisan support has co-introduced the bill with Sen. Maggie Hassan (D-NH) to reduce America’s dependence on China.

“The US is entering a golden age with President Trump returning to the White House, which means prioritizing America’s manufacturing and independence,” Sen. Scott said in an official statement.

Senator Hassan reiterated Scott’s national security concerns.

“Our national security should not require reliance on components created by enemies like China,” Senator Hassan said. “This bipartisan law protects both supply chains and national security by preventing the Department of Homeland Security from purchasing Chinese batteries for devices and technologies that keep Americans safe. It helps.”

If passed and signed the law, the Scott and Hassan bill, decoupling from the foreign hostile battery dependency law, is “the Ministry of Homeland Security from six specific companies owned and operated by Communist Party China. (DHS) prohibits procuring batteries.”

In the House of Representatives, South Florida Republican Rep. Carlos Guimenez leads the US House version of the bill.

“Communist China is doing everything it can to achieve global domination, and is willing to injure Americans and businesses, manipulate supply chains and violate cybersecurity in the process.” Scott said. “Currently, our country is procuring most of its batteries from Chinese-linked manufacturers, which is subject to major unnecessary risks to national security. Our national security We are proud to be able to introduce foreign hostile battery-dependent laws to ensure that they are trying to secure and take advantage of American consumers. looking forward to it.”

Scott’s bill, two years after the former Senator, current Secretary of State Marco Rubio warned China-related battery congressional at a US military base.
