The canned tuna problem can cause botulinum poisoning, causing a recall involving six of the nation’s top seven grocery sellers, an independent grocery store and two other well-known chains.

The Tug Rooters of Head Up, Walmart, Kroger, Costco, Safeway, Publix, Heb, Harris Teaser and Trader Joe.

Here’s what was recalled for the location and reasons that the recall was happening:

What’s the problem?

Tri-Union Seafood says that the suppliers may have a pull tab issue that will cover some tuna products. Potentially fatal form of food poisoning. โ€

What you should do now

This may seem common sense, but if you have it, no matter how it looks or smells, don’t eat canned food.

Return the tuna to the seller for a refund. Or throw it in the trash. Tri-Union says they can reach out to search kits and exchange coupons.

For questions regarding this recall, please contact Tri-Union at support@thaiunionhelp.zendesk.com or 833-374-0171. Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm, Eastern time.
