TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is tracking the outbreak of norovirus on a Florida cruise ship just days after more than 100 people fell ill on a Tampa-based ship.

More than 100 passengers and crew members were ill from the norovirus on the Rotterdam ship on the Holland America Line, according to a CDC report.

Publix Ties Trader Joe’s is America’s most popular grocery store

The report states that 107 of the 2,614 passengers, or 4.1%, are sick. The disease affects 12 of the 969 crew, or 1.2%. The affected people reported experiencing vomiting and diarrhea, which was determined to be caused by norovirus.

In response to the outbreak, the cruise line reported that it was consulting with health officials to isolate sick passengers, increase disinfection procedures and monitor the spread of the disease.

The Rotterdam outbreak is the fourth outbreak of norovirus reported to the CDC this year. The ship will depart from Port Everglades on February 2nd and is expected to return on Friday.

This comes days after the ship returned to Tampa with 168 sick passengers and crew. The Royal Caribbean sea glow also reports that he has experienced diarrhea and vomiting, but the source of the disease is unknown, according to the CDC.
