“If all Gaza hostages are not returned at 12pm on Saturday, we will cancel the ceasefire,” he said.
President Donald Trump said that if Hamas does not release all remaining hostages from Gaza by February 15th, the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas should be cancelled.
Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, Trump said it’s up to Israel to continue the deal that reached last month just before Trump took office.
“If all Gaza hostages are not returned at 12pm on Saturday, I will cancel He said.
“Israel can invalidate it, but from myself, it was 12 o’clock on a Saturday. And if they weren’t here, all hell would break out.”
Trump said he thinks “many of the hostages are dead.”
On Monday, Hamas accused Israel of violating the agreement, which led to the previous release of 21 hostages for more than 730 Palestinian prisoners.
“Resistance leadership is closely monitoring enemy violations and failure to maintain terms of contract,” a Hamas Army Wing spokesperson said. “This involves the delay in the failure of evacuated Palestinians to return to northern Gaza, targeting them in airstrikes and shootouts in various areas of the strip, and inability to promote agreed humanitarian intrusions. Includes.”
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz replied, saying it was Hamas who “completely violated the ceasefire agreement and the contract to release hostages.”
“I have instructed the IDF to prepare the highest level alerts for possible scenarios in Gaza and to protect the community,” he said.
“No, because they have much better housing,” he said. “I’m talking about creating a permanent place for them.”
Trump asked Egypt and Jordan to take Gazan, but those countries refused.
“If Egypt and Jordan refuse to accept the Palestinians into their territory, I will consider canceling their aid,” the president said on February 10.
