JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (WFLA) – Witnesses reported hearing gunshots before the woman’s body was found in the backyard of a Jacksonville home, hearing gunshots, “He’s going to kill me.”

According to a report by NBC affiliate WTLV, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s office was called to the home Monday after the woman’s body was found under a blanket.

“I was shot in the face and lived to tell a story:” Actress Christie Carlson Romano shot in the face

The sheriff’s office did not publicly identify the woman, but said she was between 40 and 60 years old.

When she went to the house to check out her friend, a woman discovered a body and a large pool of blood. One witness told officers he heard the woman screaming, “He’s going to kill me,” and another reported hearing multiple gunshots the night before the body was found.

The sheriff’s office said the person was taken into custody and taken for questioning, but no arrests have been made in connection with the woman’s death.
