Hernando County, Fla. (WFLA) – An investigation is underway after an associate in Hernando County shot the suspect after a traffic stop.
The suspect’s family spoke to 8 on your side and said their family was dead, we have not heard a reply from the sheriff’s office for confirmation.
After the aide shoots a loved one, the family is seeking justice.
“He’s not a violent man, yes, it’s true, he actually had his problems and problems, he was inside and outside of imprisonment, but on the streets he was not a violent person. Weapons and more,” Jamie Ovanner Henry said.
Obanner’s cousin Jamie Obanner Henry said she saw her cousin being shot on social media and her family rushed to the hospital.
The call took place along Martin Luther King Boulevard at 9:20pm on Thursday night.
The sheriff’s office said the aides stopped traffic and interacted with people in the car, one of them took off and chased.
When the aide caught up with suspect Michael Obanner, the sheriff said there was a violent struggle.
“That struggle was used to represent him using his firearm, but not until he tried to use Taser. Taser clearly had no effect on this individual. .
“We’re not putting this in any further sleep, so we’re looking for legal assistance to see more of this. That was a pointless death. “O’Banner-Henry said.
She says her cousin went by the microphone and now the community is gathering behind them.
“He had problems and things, but I never expected my cousin to go through the way he passed, away from his lieutenant,” Obanner Henry said.
Fdle is currently under investigation and the sheriff’s office said the family will get the answers to their questions.
“We’re definitely going to get to the exact bottom of what exactly happened than we already know. Obviously, these types of situations, sometimes rumours are rampant. So we wanted to provide you with information,” the sheriff said.
Sheriff Nienhuis said O’Banner is 62 years old and has a long criminal history, including 33 felony charges in Florida and other states.
