The Trump administration has recently passed the Layken Lily Act, plans to open a detention center in Cuba’s Guantanamo Bay, and accommodate thousands of immigrants living in the United States.

According to a USA today report, Trump signed the President’s memorandum to the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Land Security to start preparing Guantanamo Bay facilities. Guantanamo was used to hold the suspect in the 9/11 attack.

What is Guantanamo Bay?

Guantanamo Bay is a US Navy base located in the southeastern Cuba, which is under US control since 1898, following the Spanish American War. In 1903, the United States and Cuba signed a 45 -square mile land and water wreath. According to USA TODAY, it was reconfirmed by the 1934 treaty, including the provisions for the end of the lease. This base has been used for many years for various military and detention purposes.

Is the United States currently using Guantanamo Bay?

Guantanamo Bay, known for holding the suspect since September 11, 2001, also hosts an attack center. The Immigration Operation Center is a small facility that is used mainly for decades to detain immigrants who have been illegally reached the United States from Haiti and Cuba. According to the United States Defense, 15 prisoners still remain in the facilities. According to AP communication reports, the center has a limited capacity, the capacity is limited, and when Trump is sent there, it cannot accommodate 30,000 proposed people.
