GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The University of Florida (UF) posted significant gains across multiple areas in U.S. News & World Report’s latest graduate school rankings, with the School of Education reaching a historic high.

According to an official news release provided by Brittany Silvestri, the university’s media specialist, the university’s College of Education has risen to No. 2 in the nation (its highest ranking ever) and has six professional programs in the top 20 in the country.

Other programs also maintained their status as elite nations. The University of Florida’s School of Pharmacy ranked fourth, and its School of Veterinary Medicine ranked sixth, maintaining its long-established presence among the nation’s top programs.

The University of Florida School of Medicine has achieved Tier 1 designation in research and ranks among the nation’s leading medical schools. Other nationally recognized colleges include Warrington College of Business, Levin College of Law, Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences, College of Public Health and Health Professions, and Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering.

“These rankings reflect the University of Florida’s continued momentum to strengthen graduate education across disciplines,” said Joe Glover, interim president of the University of Florida. “Our universities advance research, develop future leaders, and make a real-world impact in Florida and beyond.”

Several graduate programs are ranked in the nation’s top 10, including Student Counseling (No. 2), Tax Law (No. 3), Special Education (No. 5), Biotechnology and Agricultural Engineering (No. 6), Real Estate (No. 8), and Occupational Therapy (No. 8).

There are a number of programs in the top 20, including Elementary Teacher Education (12th), Nuclear Engineering (13th), Accounting (16th), Physical Therapy (16th), Curriculum and Instruction (17th), and several programs tied for 19th place, including Educational Administration, Higher Education Administration, and Healthcare Administration.

The latest rankings are based on UF’s broader national standing. The university is currently ranked No. 7 among public universities by U.S. News & World Report, with reported research spending of $1.33 billion last year, highlighting continued investment in innovation and academic growth.

UF also continues to be a leader in online education, with its online bachelor’s degree program ranked No. 1 in the nation in the latest Best Online Programs rankings.

Readers can see the complete rankings through U.S. News & World Report.
