The U.S. Department of Justice has issued an official statement regarding the Jamakhians who recently pleaded guilty to voting illegally in the 2024 presidential primary.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Jacqueline Wallace, 53, a Jamaican national, has pleaded guilty in federal court to foreign voting. The plea was announced by John P. Heekin, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Florida.

U.S. Attorney Heekin said, “Protecting election integrity is non-negotiable. Registering to vote and voting in elections is an activity that must be ensured only by eligible American citizens. My office will aggressively prosecute cases like this to protect election security.”

Court documents say the defendant, a Jamaican national who is not a naturalized U.S. citizen, requested a mail-in ballot in July 2024, which was mailed to her address. Defendant then filled out a ballot and submitted it by U.S. mail. The front of the ballot envelope had Wallace’s handwritten name and address, and the back had her signature, personal information and date. Defendant’s ballot was received on August 12, 2024, and her vote in the presidential primary was registered and mailed on August 20, 2024. At the time she submitted her ballot, the defendants knew she was not a U.S. citizen.

This incident was investigated by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations. Assistant United States Attorney Eric W. Welch is prosecuting the case.

Sentencing for Wallace is scheduled for June 11, 2026 at 11 a.m. in U.S. District Court in Tallahassee before U.S. District Judge Mark Walker.

This case is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide effort to mobilize the Department of Justice’s efforts to repel illegal immigration, achieve the complete elimination of cartels and transnational criminal organizations (TCOs), and protect communities from perpetrators of violent crime.
