As the campaign gains momentum, candidate Clarence James continues to secure support from key voices across Northeast Florida, especially those in uniform.
James, who has already garnered notable support from members of the law enforcement and firefighting communities, received another high-profile endorsement this week from Wyman Duggan.
Mr. Duggan, a prominent figure in the Florida House of Representatives, cited both Mr. James’s personal experience and record in public service as reasons for his support.
“It was a grueling race that I will never forget,” Duggan said. “I’ll never forget the people who knocked on my door and were there for me. Clarence James was there for me.”
The congressman also emphasized James’ work ethic and perspective shaped by his experience in public safety.

“Clarence James has always been a hard-working and dedicated public servant,” Duggan added. “His law enforcement perspective is critical to the school board and to keeping our students safe.”
Mr. James’ campaign has increasingly centered on school safety and community engagement, issues that resonate strongly with first responders, many of whom are supporting his candidacy.
Mr. Duggan’s endorsement gives the campaign not only political support but additional recognition from leaders with close ties to Florida’s legislative and public safety communities.
As the race continues, James appears to be gaining support from both grassroots supporters and established officials, a coalition that could prove influential in the coming weeks.
