Poll: Panthers share their favorite hockey memorabilia

FORT LAUDERDALE – Some things are worth saving.

A puck from your first game, a special jersey, a Stanley Cup ring, anything can bring back memories or make a good decoration.

This week, FloridaPanthers.com surveyed a group of Panthers and asked them about their favorite pieces of hockey memorabilia they’ve collected over the years.

Here’s what they had to say:

Sergei Bobrovsky: It is difficult to name one person. I keep my helmet, especially after winning the Stanley Cup. World championship helmets, sticks, little things like that. I got (Vladislav) Tretiak’s jersey. It’s a great privilege. As a kid, I had a stick autographed by Dominik Hasek. We don’t have a museum right now, so I’m collecting things little by little.

Mike Benning: Growing up, I just wanted to win, so I chose everything from winning the national championship in Denver. I’ve always wanted to play against my brother and although we haven’t played against him yet, we do take pictures together on the ice. It was very special because my family was also in that building.

Jesper Boqvist: When I was a kid, my favorite player was Niklas Beckström. Admiring him, I got his stick this summer. It’s very cool.

Noah Gregor: When Patrick Marleau won the NHL record for games played in San Jose, he gave everyone a stick and an engraved wine bottle. That was so cool.

Vinny Hinostroza: My first skates.

Dmitry Kulikov: I have a (Alexander) Ovechkin stick. That’s very nice. I have very fond memories of the two miniature Stanley Cups. The coupling isn’t bad (lol).

Luke Kunin: Minnesota (Wild) made me a shield for my first game using pucks, game sheets, and photos, and framed it really nicely. It’s at my house in my hometown. That’s pretty cool.

Evan Rodriguez: Two mini-Stanley Cups that they gave us. I have some great trophies from my youth. I also have a Patrick Kane stick at home, which is pretty cool.

Macky Samoskevich: Couplings are always so cool. That has to be number one. I still have the stick I used to score my first goal. It brings back some pretty good memories. I also have some Michigan rings, so that’s pretty cool. I think all the Michigan stuff is pretty cool.

Donovan Sebrango: Probably my world junior gold medal. The feeling was quite thrilling.

DANIIL TARASOV: An old Koho goalie stick signed by Dominik Hasek. I got it when I was 5 years old. I have a hockey bag that was passed down from my grandfather to my father.

Matthew Tkachuk: The winning goal stick from Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final, or all of his Olympic gold medal equipment: skates, gloves, helmet, mouthguard, stick, socks, jersey, etc. It’s really amazing.

Carter Verhey: My Stanley Cup Finals jersey is probably the best.
