PALM CITY, Fla. (WFLA) — A snake? Inside the car engine? It’s more likely than you think.
Palm City residents were in for an unwelcome surprise when they discovered a slimy stowaway inside their car’s engine, according to the Martin County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office said the ball python became wrapped around the engine, requiring Animal Control Officer Molly Cameron to travel to the Stuart West area to help remove it.
Fortunately for the snake, Cameron was able to safely remove it and transport it to a local wildlife hospital.

“It is important to remember that exotic species such as ball pythons should never be released into the wild,” the sheriff’s office said. “Doing so could harm Florida’s native wildlife and destroy local ecosystems.”
