Friends, keep in mind that in New York City, just under 50% voted “not that person.” The problem is, and always has been, that there are always more have-nots than haves.
Good people win when there are still enough ambitious people, and those who have climbed the ladder of success try to maintain it or, hopefully, climb even higher. We can all win if we are optimistic about our future seeding ambitions.
We win if at least people graduate from high school and can read and do math at least at grade level. According to EdTrust, an analysis of New York City’s NAEP scores over a 25-year period found that “Over the past 25 years, New York City’s NAEP scores in reading and math have stagnated or declined. These results make it clear that the current approach is failing students, especially in the middle grades. We cannot continue using the same strategy and expect different results.”
This is true for many urban school districts across the country. To be successful, you must be able to read. To understand economics, you need to understand mathematics. In the 1970s, a study called “A Nation in Crisis” was published that lamented what we now aspire to as educational outcomes. We are now above risk and should be in crisis mode, but what we are hearing from our leaders is crickets. Apparently, ignorant sheep are easier to handle.
Too many people yesterday no longer had any sense of self. Instead, they want Big Brother to provide. Free stuff: transportation, housing, groceries, snaps on steroids…
Thatcher was right – soon there will be no other people’s money. Many people will flee New York City, so money will run out faster there. Virginia and New Jersey suffer from public policy lags. I have to stop there and rack my brain. How could anyone vote for an attorney general who fantasizes about killing children? wonderful!
Too many votes go D or R, regardless of who is on the ballot. I would rather not vote than vote for someone who is stupid and has consistently said he is very much against the American Experiment. If someone tells you who they are, believe them.
The chaos in American politics intensified. There may be no place to escape this storm.
