Dahler: Jeff Petry is approaching 1,000 games played in the NHL. What was it like playing with him and learning from him?
Sebrango: He is a quiet leader. You can see him doing what he’s supposed to do, that’s all you need to know. It will give you a little hint. That’s someone you can learn a lot from. Not many people can play 1,000 games in this league. I’m just watching what he does, but I’m honored to be his D-Partner.
Dahler: It was a pretty long flight from Florida to California. How did you spend your time?
Sebrango: There are a lot of Tik Toks. Just kill time with people watching them play poker. I’m not a poker fan myself, but I enjoy watching them lose money. It was a long one.
Dahler: Were you excited to be a new member of the team and immediately go to a Halloween party and then go on a long road trip?
Sebrango: I think the Halloween party was definitely an icebreaker and kind of a night out with everyone. Then I go on long road trips, go out to dinner, and hang out with everyone. Honestly, it was a great start and just what I needed to get up to speed as quickly as possible.
Dahler: What kind of men have you been close to so far?
Sebrango: I kind of knew Cole Schwindt. We lived in the same area when we played in the OHL, so I knew he was coming. Samo (Macky Samoskevic), he’s a good guy. Honestly everyone. Everyone was super good. Swaggy (Carter Verhaig), a great guy. Everyone was very helpful.
Dahler: What is your favorite thing about living in Florida so far?
Sebrango: Weather. I end up wearing shorts every day, and I’ve never experienced that before in my life.
