School Board candidate Clarence “CJ” James just secured the endorsement of the Jacksonville FOP.

Also in attendance at the campaign kickoff was Jacksonville celebrity John Keene. John Keene is well-known for his role with the Police and Fire Pension Fund, and his support will be of great help on the Westside. John Keene is also the president of the Jacksonville Retirement Association. Outside of law enforcement, former Jacksonville Fire Chief Randy Weiss also attended to support Clarence James. Businessman Tony Suleiman also expressed his full support for Clarence James. National FOP Secretary Jimmy Holderfield also reinforced his support for the FOP.

Clarence James had a successful career with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, and former Sheriff Mike Williams released a statement thanking Clarence for his 21 years of service. Clarence retired as a JSO lieutenant, becoming JSO’s first dually certified lieutenant, and spent his career on the correctional side.

Clarence James was born and raised on Jacksonville’s West Side, and his family also has deep roots there. He served his country in the United States Navy and is married with five children. Clarence’s children also serve in Jacksonville: one son is a police officer, one son is a nurse, one daughter works in the cosmetics industry, and two children are studying in public schools. He has built a career defined by loyalty, leadership and a deep commitment to community safety.

To date, Clarence James has already secured more than $25,000 for his school board campaign. This campaign aims to garner further support from law enforcement agencies.

Clarence says his campaign is about “connecting.” protect. Educate.
