LEE COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) – A Florida woman was caught on camera pointing a gun at a family member during a “street assault” incident over the weekend, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office announced.

Deputies said footage from a camera attached to 23-year-old Esmerelda Cruz’s car showed her driving toward a neighbor who was in the middle of the road.

Cruz was later seen exiting his vehicle at Southwest 19th Street and Ruth Avenue South in Lehigh Acres and pointing a gun at his family and their dog, the sheriff’s office said.

Mr. Cruz was arrested on three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

The gun was later found at her home.

“The grid is more congested than ever. Road violence cannot and will not be tolerated in Lee County,” said Sheriff Carmine Marceno.
