TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – On Tuesday, Bucs head coach Todd Bowles sat down with NewsChannel 8’s Eileen Natiuk for an exclusive weekly interview, “Bucs and Bowles,” and summarized their blowout victory over the New Orleans Saints in the Crescent City.
“At 6-2 with guys we’ve been losing to before, it’s great to see all of our previous players step up and get thrown into the fire,” Bucs head coach Todd Bowles said. “Yes, the bye week is something that this group has been looking forward to. We’re definitely going to come out with a win, don’t get me wrong, but offensively, it wasn’t quite or even close to where we wanted it to be. Our defense and special teams played really well and it was really fun to watch on their side.”
Bowles talked about how important it is to have a bye week now in Week 9.
“It might have been Week 4, it might have been the most important week. It’s Week 4.” [9]and it’s the midway point and we’re kind of beaten down, so it’s very important right now, but if we had been hit in Week 4, that would have been just as important. I know you all want to do it in the middle of the season, but for us it’s the right time. Because they’re fighting hard and a lot of their players are playing hard – as is everyone in the league. The correct thing to do at this point is to [it] The timing couldn’t be better. ”
